This tour is for you! In between exploring bustling city centers like Venice and Verona, we will nourish our bodies with the best local food and wines Italy has to offer. Explore Venice, known as “the floating city”, as stripe-clad gondoliers cruise the interconnected canals that separate the vibrant city’s various districts. Later we will explore the Prosecco Hills and enjoy a glass of the effervescent drink of the same name. Explore the towns surrounding Lake Garda, enjoy olive oil and ravioli tasting, and of course savor countless wines in the heart of Italy’s wine country. You don’t want to miss this tour - your stomach will thank you!
DAY 1 - Pick-up at Venice Marco Polo Airport and Drop off at your hotel
Welcome to Italy! After your arrival in the Venice Marco Polo Airport, our driver will welcome you and drive you to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy some time time for relaxation after your long journey to the heart of Italy’s food country. Enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant. DAY 2 - Venice 3-hour Walking Tour with Private Guide
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Venice by private transfer. You will meet our expert guide in Piazzale Roma and from here you will start anenchanting three-hour walking tour through the beauties and tastes of Venice. You will stroll through the “calle” (narrow streets), canals, and unknown bridges the most known of which being the Rialto Bridge. This is the oldest of four bridges crossing the Grand Canal in the heart of Venice, dating back to the rise of the Rialto district in the year 1097. On the way to St. Mark square, you will take a respite in small bars known as “Bacari”. Here you will taste the very famous Aperol Spritz (aperitif) and the “cicchetti” (small snacks/side dishes similar to Spanish tapas). This will be an effervescent start to your foodie tour of Italy. As you stroll along the enchanting streets of Venice, stop for a drink in small street side cafes, and taste the local flavors with sweet and savory treats. What more could you want for your first day in the heart of food country? Enjoy lunch on your own and spend the afternoon at your leisure. DAY 3 - Prosecco Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. After being picked up at the hotel, you will be transferred to the enchanting Prosecco Hills. Throughout our drive, you will find Medieval towns sprinkling the Prosecco hillsides with old world castles nestled perfectly in the vineyards. Here you will have a first visit to a traditional winery located in the heart of Valdobbiadene area, one of the oldest wine regions in Italy where the best wines, secrets, and traditions have been preserved for centuries. Tour the winery and taste authentic Prosecco wine unlike any you have enjoyed before. Fruity, floral, and effervescent, this Prosecco will invigorate your tastebuds and leave you excited for the days ahead as we tour Italy’s food and wine country. After the first visit, you will be transferred to a charming traditional restaurantnestled in the middle of Prosecco Hills. Take your time to enjoy the views as you dine on Italian slow food handcrafted by culinary artisans. In the afternoon, you will have a second winery tour and tasting in another traditional winery not far from the restaurant. You will then be transferred to Verona, also known as the city of lovers and known as one of the most spectacular Italian cities. Dinner will be on your own with our recommendations.Overnight stay at 4-star hotel in Verona.
DAY 4 - Verona 3h Walking Tour with Private Guide
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you will be met by our guide and together you will explore the beauties of one most stunning cities in Italy: Piazza Bra with its magnificentArena, Via Mazzini, Piazza delle Erbe, and the Balcony of Juliet. Enjoy lunch on your own in the city and spend the afternoon at leisure. Home of the well-known romantic tragedy, Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Verona is a city with a rich history of theater,literature, and—yes—food. Dotted with cedar and pine trees, spouting fountains in energetic squares, and dotted with countless cafes and restaurants, you will undoubtedly lose yourself in the city of love. We recommend visiting the Museo di Castelvecchio, home to many impressive statues, jewels, and medieval artifacts and paintings; the Torre dei Lamberti watchtower featuring 360-degree views of the Verona and the nearby mountain range; or strolling through the streets to find a quintessential cafe for appetizers and Prosecco. DAY 5 - Cooking Class and Amarone Winery Tour and Tasting
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will take you to a traditional house not far from Verona. Here you will be met by the Chef and taken into the battlefield: the kitchen! Enjoy an authentic Italian cooking lesson and learn the basic cooking techniques to prepare simple and delicious recipes! Whether you’re wondering the secret to the perfect Risotto or how to make a hearty ravioli, our expert chef will walk you through the fundamentals of Italian cooking so you can make your perfect meal even after your return home. Lunch. n the afternoon, you will be transferred to Valpolicella, one of Italy’s most important wine regions also known as the pearl of the Province of Verona. located just east of Lake Garda, this area is both a granite quarry and the second most important wine region just behind Chianti. Producing a light, fragrant taste, this wine is loved around the world by wine enthusiasts and casual wine drinkers alike. Here you will visit a family-run winery andtaste the main wine of this land, the Amarone. You will be transferred back to Verona in the late afternoon. Dinner will be on your own. DAY 6 - Oil Mill Tasting Tour and Sirmione (Lake Garda)
Breakfast at the hotel. You will be transferred after breakfast to the gentle countryside ofLake Garda. This area is known for its charming towns, unique landscapes, and local gastronomic products. One of these delicacies is the famed and excellent extra virgin olive oil. After having met the farm’s owner, you will visit the olive tree groves, the oil mill, and the cellar for aging Parmesan cheese. You will enjoy a tasting of the farm’s best local products. After the visit, you will be transferred to Sirmione, also called the “pearl of lake Garda.” This quaint city juts into the lake on a perfectly perched southern Peninsula. With old-world castle walls dipping into the cool blue waters, you’ll be enchanted by the sights of this picturesque town. Lunch will be on your own as your explore the streets and find your perfect hideaway to enjoy the local cuisine. This is followed by a 3 hour walking tour of Sirmione (with your private guide) including a visit to the village, the Scalier Castle and the Catullo’s Grotto Roman Villa. Sirmione is famous for its thermal springs and colorful cliffside dwellings and churches. In the evening, you will be transferred back to Verona. Dinner will be on your own. DAY 7 - Vicenza 3 hour Walking Tour with Private Guide, Ravioli and Panettone
Breakfast at the hotel. Your transport will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you toVicenza, where you will be met by our guide who will lead you through the streets, the squares and the monuments of the Golden City of Palladio. From Corso Andrea Palladio, you will reach Piazza dei Signori - the heart of the city. Here you will be impressed by the imposing Basilica Palladiana, the iconic Renaissance building that is the traditional symbol of the city. From here, you will easily reach Piazza delle Erbe and the Olympic Theatre. For lunch, we recommend a typical Veneto trattoria where you will enjoy Soppressa vicentina (salumi) and ravioli filled with guinea-fowl. Further indulge your wine-loving soul with a bottle of Valpolicella Roccolo Grassi! With hints of black cherry cocoa, and vanilla, your palate will be invigorated by this deep red wine. Don’t go overboard yet, because you will indulge in dessert at another special location nearby. After lunch, we will take you to visit one of the symbols of “Made in Italy” specialized in production and sales of Panettoni, a rich and sweet Italian bread filled with fruit peels and raisins. This family-run business can be defined as an “artisan of good food” with over 70 years of experience. Born as a small wood-oven bakery, today it has become a well- established company whose production is in demand all over the world. During the tour,you will visit the production center and discover the “hidden secrets” to make excellent products. You will see the renowned “treasure chest” and taste a delicious slice of Panettone. After the tour, you will be transferred back to Verona. Dinner will be on your own. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Verona.
DAY 8 - Pick-up at the hotel and Drop Off to Venice Marco Polo airport
Breakfast. Pick-up at your preferred hotel located in Verona and drop off to Venice Marco Polo airport. End of the scheduled services. Say “Arrivederci” to Italy and reminisce on the amazing sights and tastes of your Veneto Food Tour!
