Program

Day 1. Pick-up at Venice Marco Polo airport and transfer to your preferred hotel located in Venice. Day at leisure. Overnight at 4* hotel in Venice.

Day 2. Breakfast. After breakfast you will be transferred to Mazzorbo Island, a nice island located right next to Burano, and linked to the major island by a wooden bridge called by the locals "Ponte Longo" (long bridge). Your first impression may be the one of visiting a classic island of the Venetian Lagoon. Probably your impression will changed as soon as arrived: the island of Mazzorbo is home to a vineyard that has been able to overcome the challenge of the high tide for centuries, giving rise to a wine with characteristics that are entirely unique. You will have a tour of the property with visit to the unique vineyard and the vegetable gardens and orchards. Follows a tasting of local wine and lunch at the Osteria. Before going back to Venice we recommend to stroll among the colored houses of Burano, just few steps from Mazzorbo Island. In late afternoon transfer back to Venice. Overnight at 4* hotel in Venice.

Day 3. Breakfast. Morning at leisure. Lunch on your own. Around 1:30-2:00 pm you will be transferred to Trieste. On the way to the city we will stop to the breathtaking UNESCO’s World Heritage site of Aquileia (2 hours walking tour with private guide) with visit to the ruins of the Roman Forum, the famous mosaic floor of the Basilica and the Baptistery. After the tour you will be transferred to your preferred hotel located in Trieste. Overnight at 4* hotel in Trieste.

Day 4. Breakfast. In the morning you will be met by our expert guide who will lead you through the beauties of Trieste (2.5 hours walking tour), from Piazza dell’Unità to the historical center. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon you can choose if spending the rest of the day in the city center, visiting Miramare Castle or to the Grotta Gigante, elected the world's largest show cave in 1995. Overnight at 4* hotel in Trieste.

Day 5. Breakfast. Today you have an amazing food tour through the Collio, a poetic place of ancient vineyards on rolling hills in an area rich in traditions, which extend to neighboring Slovenia. At first you will visit one of the few Italian realities specialized in making wine vinegar. The tour is not only focused on wine vinegar, but takes into consideration the philosophy and the way of interpreting hospitality and sustainable tourism, from the small houses rising on the edge of a luxuriant wood to the the cellar where the wine vinegar is produced. Lunch at a traditional osteria. In the afternoon you will be transferred to a 13th Century castle perched on the top of a gentle hill in the heart of friulian Collio. You will have a tour of the castle and of the historical cellar with final tasting of wines. Transfer back to the hotel in late afternoon. Overnight at 4* hotel in Trieste.

Day 6. Breakfast. On the way to San Daniele del Friuli we will stop to the Abbey of Rosazzo, panoramic point from where you will admire the beauty of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Fro the Abbey you will be transferred to San Daniele del Friuli for the visit of a traditional Prosciuttificio (ham factory) which will be followed by the lunch tasting. In the afternoon you will have a tour of Spilimbergo (2hours walking tour with private guide) with visit to the School of Mosaic, one of the most important in Italy. Transfer back to the hotel in late afternoon. Overnight at 4* hotel in Trieste.

Day 7. Breakfast. Pick-up and transfer to Venice Marco Polo airport. End of the services. “Arrivederci”.

  • Mazzorbo Island Wine Experience: available from the beginning of March to the end of November. The experience requires a minimum of 2 people. In case of 1 person, we will organize a tour of Burano with lunch at the osteria;

  • Services not mentioned in the section “Services Included”.

  • If some of the attractions/suppliers mentioned above are not available they will be replaced by others of the same quality;

  • If lunch is not included we suggest to book the restaurants in advance;
